The star attraction of Kanha National Park is the Barasingha deer. Come to this park to watch their gorgeous antlers bounce over the vast grasslands. Kanha is full of wild action. Herds of running Chital Deer are commonly seen, as are Sambar deer and Boar being preyed upon by Leopards. Soon after the big cat has had its fill, you will see White-Backed and Egyptians Vultures take over the carcass. Wild Dogs, Sloth Bears, Jungle Cats, and Mongoose are common encounters during a safari too. Early morning safaris and elephant rides are the most productive. Take the evening off from the forest to visit tribal villages surrounding the forest. If you’re lucky, you’ll be invited in to share an authentic wood cooked Indian meal with the family!
